Culture PEI has a new Executive Director
The Board of Directors of Culture PEI are pleased to announce that Mark Sandiford has accepted the position of Executive Director for Culture PEI, the Cultural Human Resource Sector Council for the province of PEI.
Mark has been an active participant in the cultural sector of PEI through new media and film disciplines, holding active board roles for various organizations including Island Film Factory, Island Media Arts Co-op, Interactive Media Alliance of PEI and Innovation Technology Association of PEI. Mark is also an inaugural (former) board member and Chair of Culture PEI and is a Gemini award-winning filmmaker of "Qallunaat! Why White People Are Funny", garnering the award for best reflection of Canada's racial and cultural diversity in 2008.
Mark is passionate about cultural sector development and brings a wealth of knowledge to Culture PEI's programs and initiatives. He looks forward to working with all stakeholders for continued engagement and further development of successful initiatives on behalf of the cultural sector.
The position was left vacant when Henk van Leeuwen, former executive director, accepted a new position with Easter Seals Nova Scotia in mid-July.
