Charlottetown Offering Support for Culture Days Projects
The City of Charlottetown is looking to support two Culture Days activities that celebrate the vibrant cultural life of the city. It is providing two grants of $400 each to projects that are free to the public and get people to participate in the joy of creating culture during the period of September 27-29.
Culture Days 2013
Culture Days is a national volunteer celebration of arts and culture. It’s the largest arts and culture public participation campaign in the country. It will take place September 27, 28, 29 across Canada. It’s an opportunity for Prince Edward Island artists, artisans, arts and cultural groups, venues, organizations and municipalities to engage Islanders in the cultural life of their communities. Culture Days activities and events should be free for participants to enjoy, and be “hands on” or “behind the scenes” opportunities for Islanders.
This support program will provide $400.00 to individuals and organizations selected through an adjudication process to offset costs associated with initiating and hosting a Culture Days activity. Costs could include materials, supplies or the hiring of support staff or artists.
The deadline for submitting an application is September 6, 2013.
