Music PEI partners to bring you the 2nd annual “Festival Best Practices” Workshop

Panelists to discuss the importance of strategic event planning

 

Charlottetown, P.E.I. - January 17, 2014 - Music PEI in partnership with Culture PEI and The Department of Tourism and Culture presents the Festival Best Practices Workshop as part of Credit Union Music PEI Week 2014. This will be the second edition of the workshop and will cover new topics as well as expanding on ones covered last year. The panelists include Tamara Kater, Folk Music Canada and former ED of the Winnipeg and Ottawa Folk Festivals, and Lulu Healy, Artistic Director of Jazz East, along with Christopher Roberts, Festival Director of North By Northeast - NXNE.

If you are involved in administration or running a festival regardless of genre, discipline or size, you will learn tips, techniques and best practices from experienced festival organizers from across the country. Learn more about volunteer recruiting and retention, funding, financial management, marketing, board governance and more.

 

The workshop runs from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Friday Jan. 31 and 9:30am to 4:00pm on Saturday Feb. 1 at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel. Lunch is included on Saturday with the $35 registration fee.
