"Board governance is a critical component of the non-profit organizational performance," says Culture P.E.I.'s Executive Director, Mark Sandiford. "Effective governance ensures that objectives are realized, resources are well managed, and the interests of stakeholders are protected and reflected in key decisions."

"An effective and engaged board of directors is key to the short and long term success of any artistic, cultural or heritage organization," said Minister of Tourism and Culture Robert Henderson. "We are proud to partner with Culture PEI to offer these workshops that will benefit both the new board member who is just learning the ins and outs of the organization, and the longstanding board member who may want to sharpen their skills or learn new approaches to governance."

These workshops are sponsored by the Department of Tourism and Culture and will feature expert knowledge on non profit board fundamentals by Carol Gabanna of HRA
